RUV has open submissions for next year’s Icelandic national selection!
All interested composers and artists can apply before November 2 by filling the form available on the official website of the broadcaster. As in previous years, the winner of “Söngvakeppnin 2016” will be awarded 1.000.000 Icelandic Crowns and the right to represent Iceland at Eurovision 2016 to take place in Stockholm (Sweden).
Iceland has taken part at Eurovision since 1986 getting the best places in 1999 (Selma – All out of Luck) and 2009 (Yohanna – Is It True?), both came 2nd. Last year, they were represented by María Ólafsdóttir and the song “Unbroken”, but they didn’t qualify for the grand final.
