According to newsit.gr, ERT is currently discussing the selection method they will be using to choose an entrant for Eurovision 2016. A final decision will be taken in the coming days, but it seems that the Greek broadcaster prefers going internally to avoid high costs.
As you may know, the Greek public broadcaster ERT re-opened last year and they don’t currently have any cooperation with external organizations, such as MAD TV, which can assume costs of a possible selection show. Moreover, newsit.gr, reports that the broadcaster could be looking for a song with traditional Greek sounds which shows the culture of the Mediterranean country.
Last year, Greece were represented by Maria Elena Kyriakou, who performed “One Last Breath” after winning the national final. She reached the 19th place at the Grand Final of Eurovision 2015.
Yeah it is already known that this scenario will happen most likely indeed..
Well Helena Paparizou was internally selected by ERT and she won in the Vision of Kiev..
