Germany picks tonight their 2016 Eurovision entry on ”Unser Lied Für Stockholm”!

After weeks of drama with the German national broadcaster NDR/ARD, the country is ready to pick their 2016 Eurovision act in a show called ”Unser Lied Für Stockholm” which is taking place tonight live from Cologne.

Rehearsals on stage have been held throughout the past few days, all over the week and also the postcards for each of the presentations have been released.

The line-up for tonight’s grand final in Germany is made-up of 10 acts after 150 proposals were received by NDR from ARD radio stations, record companies, producers, artist managers and independent artists themselves. Take a look at the competing names below:

  • Alex Diehl: “Nur ein Lied”
  • Avantasia: “Mystery Of A Blood Red Rose”
  • Ella Endlich: “Adrenalin”
  • Gregorian: “Masters Of Chant”
  • Jamie-Lee Kriewitz: “Ghost”
  • Joco: “Full Moon”
  • Keøma: “Protected”
  • Laura Pinski: “Under The Sun We Are One”
  • Luxuslärm: “Solange Liebe in mir wohnt”
  • Woods of Birnam: “Lift Me Up (From The Underground)”

The show will be presented by popular and well-known German TV celebrity Barbara Schöneberger and can be live-streamed from 20:15 CET on Eurovision.TV WEB PLAYER and NDR’s official streaming. The winner will be selected through two rounds of public voting, including options for landline, SMS and app voting. In the first round of voting, the top three entries will be selected to proceed to the second round, where it will up again to the German audience to decide who is represent Germany in Stockholm.

In addition to the performances of the competing entries, the guest act will feature the German band The BossHoss performing a cover version of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” together with previous Dutch Eurovision entrants The Common Linnets, who placed second in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

NDR first previously selected Xavier Naidoo and intended to hold a national final show with several potential entries before his withdrawal after intense critics from the German media.
