Germany: ARD look for young talents, national final on February 9!

Attention young singers, submissions for the German national selection for Eurovision 2017 have just been open!

ARD is back to the national selection format which gave them the first place six years ago, featuring five young promising singers performing song from famous worldwide producers. The talent-show will be named Eurovision Song Contest – Unser Song 2017 and it will include a panel of judges that will be responsible for selecting the five promising candidates throughout the first stages of the competition.

Applications for singers are now open until 18 November, so all interested artists can send their applications by filling the form available on the official website of the broadcaster. An expert committee, made up of representatives of NDR and music experts, will select 30 candidates who will go through to the next round of castings, but only five of them will compete at the Grand Final set on February 9.

During the final, the five selected candidates will perform songs commissioned from successful producers with an expert panel, made up of  Tim Bendzko, Florian Silbereisen, and Lena, commenting on the songs after each performance. The winner and German representative will be decided by the audience via SMS and Eurovision App.

Eurovision Song Contest – Unser Song 2017 will be presented by Barbara Schöneberger live from Cologne at 21.15 CET.
