Claudia Faniello to represent Malta in Kiev after winning MESC 2017

What an exciting show PBS gave us tonight! After some tension and shaking nerves, Malta has decided that Claudia Faniello, sister of former representative Fabrizio Faniello, must represent them at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Breathlessly”. The show took place live from Ta’Qali’s Malta Fairs and Convention Centre and was presented by Daniel Azzopardi and Charlene Mercieca.

The decision has been made 100% by the Maltese audience with their SMS’, who could only vote once from the same phone number. The third and second places have been awarded to Kevin Borg and Janice respectively.

These are the acts which competed on stage tonight:

  1. Klinsmann – Laserlight
  2. Raquela – Ray of light
  3. Deborah C & Josef Tabone  – Tonight
  4. Kevin Borg – Follow
  5. Jade – Seconds away
  6. Crosswalk – So simple
  7. Franklin – Follow me
  8. Rhiannon – Fearless
  9. Miriana Conte – Don’t look down
  10. Shauna – Crazy games
  11. Janice Mangion – Kewkba
  12. Cherton – Fighting to survive
  13. Maxine – Bombshell
  14. Richard Edwards – You
  15. Brooke – Unstoppable
  16. Claudia Faniello – Breathlessly

Fans could also see a few familiar faces who already tried to gain the hearts of the audience in previous years such as Richard Edwards, Claudia Faniello, Kevin Borg, Maxine, Brooke or Franklin Calleja among others.

2002 and 2016 Maltese entrant Ira Losco and JESC 2016 star Christina Magrin were also performing at the festival in Ta’Qali as invited guests, both of them presented their latest productions.

Do you like the Maltese entry for Kiev? Do you think the songs needs any arrangements in order to make it better?

Stay tuned and tell us your opinion!

About Adrián Valiente (Spain)

I love the Eurovision Song Contest not only because of its amazing production but it also gives me the chance to discover new music every year. I've been watching it since 2002, since then I became a huge follower, mostly because of the interest TVE put on it with Rosa from Spain. I've attended the contest several times in the last few years. I also attended the Junior Eurovision in Malta and Bulgaria where we lived an amazing experience thanks to all delegations and PBS/BNT organising team.
