Azerbaijani entry for Eurovision 2017 revealed, listen to Skeletons

Azerbaijani broadcaster Ictimai have just released the song Dihaj will perform at this year’s Eurovision. The young singer will sing “Skeletons” in the First Semi-Final of the European show after having been internally selected by the broadcaster.

Dihaj’s song for Eurovision has been written by the Azerbaijani composer/producer Isa Melikov and Sandra Bjurman. They both previously worked with Eldar Gasimov and Nikki Jamal on their winning entry for Azerbaijan in 2011.

Watch the official music video and listen to the song below:

Dihaj, who lives in Baku, has gained popularity due to her experimental-pop music style. She already tried to represent the country back in 2011, when she entered “Mili Seçim Turu”. She came 4th in her heat which saw eventual winner Eldar Gasimov qualify from. She sang Alyosha‘s “Sweet People” (Ukraine 2010) during the show but ultimately didn’t impress enough to make it through to the next stage. She was also one of Samra‘s backing vocalists in Stockholm, but appeared off stage during the performance of “Miracle” at the Globen Arena.
